TECO Marine Liquid Buffer provides a complete spectrum of buffering agents to raise and maintain alkalinity for the marine and reef aquarium. Directions: Basic: Add 5 ml, or one capful, per 75 L (20 gallons) every day until optimum alkalinity is reached. Use in conjunction with TECO Marine Liquid Calcium. Do not directly mix with either calcium or magnesium additives, add at different times of the day. Advanced: After determining the amount of alkalinity depletion per day via test kits, you may add additional doses up to 1 ml per very 5 L (1.5 gallons). Do not exceed this dosage level!
Notes on use
Alkalinity is the measure of the dissolved minerals in water that make up the buffering capacity of the water. In marine and reef aquariums alkalinity helps maintain stable pH levels. Without a high enough, full spectrum of alkaline buffers marine organisms cannot effectively use other elements such as calcium. It is important not to overdose because that can cause calcium to fall out of solution. It is recommended that alkalinity be kept between 3.0 and 4.5 meq/l milli equivalent = (8 to 11 dKH). Do not exceed 4.5meq/l and do not go below 2.0 meq/l.
TECO Marine Liquid Buffer is a complete, full spectrum buffer based on the principal elements of alkalinity: carbonates and bicarbonates with added sulfate and borate to complete the addition of all necessary buffers.
